In the afternoon, we will visit the Inca Museum and learn more about Inca culture. The museum owns ceramics, textiles, tools and even human skulls dating from the Tahuantinsuyo period.

What is the best season to do the Cusco Machu Picchu Tour?

The best season to do the Cusco Machu Picchu Tour is during the dry season, which runs from April to October. During this season the weather conditions are better, because there is less rainfall, clear skies and bright sunshine.

How many days should I acclimatise in Cusco before the Cusco Machu Picchu tour?

Since you will not be exposed to higher altitudes, you will only need to acclimatise in Cusco. Visiting the Inca Museum and Qoricancha will help you adapt to the altitude. Don’t forget to drink coca tea!

Do I have to pay a single supplement if I am a solo traveller?

Yes, our offer prices are based on double occupancy, which means two people share a room. For single travellers there is an additional charge, which you can discuss with our sales advisors when booking. This is because you will be allocated a room exclusively for yourself (which does not vary significantly in space and price compared to a double room), and therefore a corresponding single supplement applies.

Is it better to bring dollars or soles?

It is advisable to travel to Peru carrying U.S. dollars. It is recommended that you look for an exchange house with a reasonable exchange rate. Airport exchange rates are often bad.

It is recommended that you exchange your currency with dollars (Mexican pesos, Colombian pesos, Argentinean pesos, etc.). Once in Cusco city, the exchange rate for non-dollar currencies is usually lower.

The most convenient place to sell your dollars is Sun Av. This avenue is near the Main Square and there are many exchange houses on it. However, our staff is always available to give you guidance on this matter.

You should take Peruvian soles with you since most tourist businesses accept soles and a few dollars during the tour.

How many travellers will share this experience with me?

As this is a private travel package, you will travel with the people you booked with, either your family or friends. If the number of travellers is more than 12 people, you will have a main guide and an assistant guide.

Does this package include accommodation, and can I choose which accommodation I prefer?

Our travel packages include accommodation according to the tour duration and are based on double occupancy. We can offer double rooms with 2 beds, single or double occupancy. You can choose a triple room with 3 single beds or the type of accommodation you prefer if you are 3 travellers. It is necessary to contact our sales agents to provide these details regarding the type of accommodation.

On the other hand, if you are a single person, you must pay an individual supplement for your accommodation in hotels. This is due to the fact that the price of a single room and a double room in hotels is almost the same.

The accommodation we offer in Cusco is the Ayni Cusco Hotel, Monasterio San Pedro or similar. In Machu Picchu Pueblo, also called Aguas Calientes, is the Golden Sunrise Hotel or similar.

Is it possible to charge my electronic devices during my tour?

Of course, yes. Guests can charge their electronic devices at hotels. Peru’s voltage is 220 volts or 60HZ AC. If you connect electrical devices made for lower current voltages, you will damage them. It is recommended that you bring a voltage adapter in order to take care of your electrical appliance in this circumstance.

The most common plugs in Peru are Type A (two parallel rectangular slits), Type B (two parallel slits plus a third circular plug), and Type C (two circular plugs).

What do I need to enter Peru?

People from countries such as Chile, Colombia, Argentina, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay and Bolivia can enter Peru by presenting only their national identity card. For countries such as Spain, Mexico, Costa Rica, and others, they must present a valid passport with an expiry date of not less than 6 months from the date of entry into Peru. A visa is not required, except for travelers from countries such as Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia and Kosovo.

Where can I store my luggage during my Machu Picchu visit?

For convenience and comfort, leave your heavy luggage at your Cusco accommodation. Most hotels offer luggage storage for free.

You must carry no more than 5 kilos of luggage on the second day of your train trip. For this reason, and for your comfort you should only carry a daypack with the necessary items to spend the day in Machu Picchu while you are away from your hotel in Cusco.

What happens if a tour is cancelled due to weather conditions or strikes?

Because of factors outside the control of the travel agency, these tours are non-refundable. We arrange all visits and tours months in advance of your trip to secure tickets and fares. Check out our trems and conditions.

Can I choose my Machupicchu train seat?

Travel agencies are not always allowed to choose seats in train cars from Peru Rail or Inca Rail, all seats are allocated and purchased based on availability. Tickets will always be purchased based on your travel date, rather than the specific number of seats.

Is Expedition train service better than Vistadome train service?

Both trains make the same trip during the same period of time, along the same train tracks and on very similar schedules. However, the Vistadome is a little more comfortable than the Expedition train service. Windows and ceilings of the Vistadome train are wider than those of the Expedition train. There are also slightly larger spaces between seats in the Vistadome. Finally, another difference is that the Vistadome service from Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town) to Ollantaytambo offers a dance show and a fashion show with baby alpaca garments.

Those factors will make your trip easier to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Do our travel packages include international flights?

Waman Adventures works with passengers arriving from around the world, and we focus on Peruvian territory service that we provided. For this reason, international flights are not possible at the moment. However, we have trained staff that will gladly help you quote and organize your flights better.

Note: Some of our travel packages do include local air flights on the Lima-Cusco, Cusco-Lima and Juliaca-Lima flights.

What type of ground transport is used on the tours?

Waman Adventures owns comfortable transport such as Mercedes Benz Sprinter and Hyundai H360. These transportation units undergo weekly technical revisions and are not more than 5 years old. As required by the law, all of this is done.

Is it possible to add additional hotel nights before or after my booked tour?

Yes, at Waman Adventures we can arrange additional nights in the hotels we work with according to the particular requirements of each of our passengers.

For more information or to reserve extra nights we recommend contacting one of our sales agents. We will make the necessary arrangements for extra nights and options.

Note: All hotel reservations are made 30 days before your reservation date.

Is there internet access during this trip?

Yes, you will have an internet connection in the hotels we included in your travel package. However, it is possible to buy a SIM card which allows internet access in Peruvian territory.

Can I take my drone on tour days?

This is an important point because drones cannot be flown over archaeological sites such as Saqsayhuaman, Machu Picchu or Tambomachay.

As part of this trip, you can use it in the Sacred Valley, Main Square, Aguas Calientes, as well as in towns around tourist attractions.
