This beautiful island is world famous for its outstanding textile tradition and ancestral weaving art. The island has been recognized by UNESCO for its unique skill in the making of high quality textile garments which are mostly made by men.

The men’s skill in spinning, weaving and becoming masters has been inherited. On this day, you will have an opportunity to learn about the techniques and appreciate their impressive skill in creating textiles; and if you wish, you can purchase a textile or souvenir. After the tour, we will enjoy a delicious lunch on this historic island.

Before returning to Puno, we recommend you live the last moments in this magical place to the fullest, and we will also have time to take beautiful pictures. After a few minutes, we will board the boat for 2.5 hours towards Puno. Upon arrival in Puno, we will take you back to your hotel, ending this unforgettable experience on majestic Lake Titicaca.

The best season to do the Uros Taquile Amantani tour is during the dry season, which runs from April to October. Temperatures range between 15°C and 20°C during the day and drop to between 5°C and 0°C at night.

During this season, weather conditions are more stable, with less rainfall, clear skies and bright sunshine. However, it can get very cold at night, so we recommend wearing warm clothing.

We recommend that you acclimatise for 1 to 2 days before the 2 day Lake Titicaca tour, as Puno is located at a high altitude, so you may feel the effects of altitude sickness or soroche upon arrival.

People from countries such as Chile, Colombia, Argentina, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay and Bolivia can enter Peru by presenting only their national identity card. In the case of Spain, Mexico, Costa Rica and others, they must present their passport with a validity of not less than 06 months from their entry into Peruvian territory. A visa is not required, except for travellers coming from countries such as Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia and Kosovo, which do require it.

If you are coming from a sea level area or a very low area (below 1000 m/3280 ft), it is very important to acclimatise to the altitude of the city of Puno (3,812 m/12,506 ft). A day or two of rest, short walks and light meals is recommended. This way you will be ready for your activities.

It is highly recommended to drink plenty of fluids when arriving in Puno to oxygenate your body. To combat soroche, cocoa leaf-based products like chocolates, drinks, and candies are highly recommended.
