Highlight of the Day: Meet the famous Red Howler Monkey, who will bid us farewell on our journey

Our day begins with lots of energy and a connection to nature. Need to be awakened? Don’t worry, powerful howls of the Red Howler Monkey will wake you up. It’s also time to enjoy our rich breakfast before heading back to Capitania port to bid farewell to nature. At the port, transportation will be ready to take you to the airport or hotel.

Exploring part of the majestic Peruvian jungle will dive you into the impressive biodiversity of the Peruvian Amazon rainforest. During your experience, you will enjoy activities including jungle treks for wildlife spotting, canoe rides along winding rivers, the opportunity to observe birds in their natural habitat, and accommodation in sustainable ecolodges that will allow you to connect with nature and understand conservation efforts in the rainforest.

This wonderful area is located in the region of Madre de Dios and is a prime location for ecotourism activities due to its proximity to the Tambopata National Reserve and other protected areas in the Peruvian Amazon.

The climate in Tambopata is extremely hot and humid, making it ideal for wildlife. Temperatures range between 28°C and 36°C and rarely drop below 20°C.

REMEMBER! Bring essential items and be ready, as during the rainy season, we will need some items mentioned in our “PACKING LIST” section.

We recommend having the yellow fever vaccine to enjoy without complications. The Peruvian Ministry of Health (MINSA) recommends getting vaccinated 10 days before traveling to the jungle. If you have any allergies to insects, consult your doctor for more information.

Remember! We want you to be well and enjoy your trip to the fullest.

During our tour, we will be staying in bungalows. Why? The infrastructure in this area does not interfere with the natural aesthetics, and we aim not to disturb the local flora and fauna.

Remember! The bungalows have leisure services and amenities to ensure you enjoy your trip and the natural surroundings.

During our tour, when we start and head from the airport or hotel to the port of Capitanía and vice versa, our transportation will be by bus. However, to travel along the Madre de Dios River, we use boats.

We recommend booking or purchasing your flight to ensure and avoid mishaps on your tour before 10 a.m. and for your return flight to take off after 2 p.m. 

NOTE: Please inform us of your flight schedules because we need to know our clients’ arrival times and give them a warm welcome.

Swimming in the rivers and lakes during our trip is kind of dangerous due to caimans and stingrays. Do you like swimming? Our lodge has pools where you can swim and relax, so we recommend bringing swimwear to enjoy this little paradise.

Note: Swimming in rivers or lakes is not prohibited, but it has its dangers due to the presence of wild animals like caimans and some trunks and roots that can make swimming difficult.

For our 2-day Tambopata tour, we need you to bring appropriate clothing to protect yourself from the sun and mosquitoes, such as long-sleeved shirts, pants, suitable footwear, and hats or caps. All these garments should be lightweight and in neutral colors. Why? We don’t want to attract insects that are drawn to bright colors.

The animals you might see during the journey while sailing, and in specific locations mentioned in our itinerary include: capybaras, caimans, taricayas, herons, cormorants, scavenger birds, and birds of prey.

NOTE: If you want to see some of these animals, it is necessary to be patient and silent. Load your camera, phones, or binoculars up! Wait for every single opportunity to photograph these species.

In the Peruvian jungle, there is no internet or mobile network coverage. Don’t worry! We know you need to stay connected. Our lodge (Eco Amazonia Lodge-Bungalows) has wi-fi and Claro mobile signal. This way, you can share your photos and videos of your experiences with your friends and family, making them all envious.

The meals during our tour are varied and made with local products, including the region’s typical dish, JUANE.

Are you vegetarian or vegan? Don’t worry so that we’ll deal with your dietary preferences.

No, you cannot take any animals or plants home from the Amazonia. It’s illegal to collect biodiversity without a special permit given by the Peruvian government and SERNAMP. Furthermore, as a travel agency, we highly respect nature, and we are firmly against such actions.
