CUSCO – PALLAY PONCHO

The Pallay Poncho Tour begins by picking up passengers at their hotels in Cusco, around 4:00 a.m. The private transport journey takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes, offering impressive views of the Andean landscape, including the Langui-Layo Lagoon.

Upon arriving in the town of Layo, travelers enjoy an Andean breakfast to prepare for the hike. They are then transported to the trailhead, which takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes by vehicle.

At the starting point, the guide provides safety instructions before beginning the 3-hour hike to the summit of the colored mountain Pallay Poncho. Along the route, you can see typical high-Andean vegetation such as ichu, as well as local wildlife like vizcachas, alpacas, llamas, deer, foxes, and Andean condors.

Once at the top, the guide explains the location’s significance, and participants have time to rest and enjoy the landscape before starting the descent to Layo, where a lunch prepared with local products awaits.

At the end of the tour, travelers return to Cusco by private transport and are dropped off at their respective hotels.
