The Route of the Sun Cusco Puno tour begins by picking you up at your hotel between 6:00 and 6:20 a.m. Afterward, we will head to the bus terminal to check in of the boarding ticket and luggage at 6:40 a.m., with the departure scheduled for 7:00 a.m. (sharp). The first stop of this exciting journey is the Andahuaylillas Church, located at 3,121 m / 10,240 ft. This 17th-century church is known as the Sistine Chapel of America due to its impressive murals, gold leaf works, and Cusco school paintings that decorate inside this temple.

After approximately 1.5 hours of travel after visiting Andahuaylillas, we will arrive and visit for 40 minutes the Raqchi Archaeological Complex at 3,502 m / 11,489 ft. This place is also known as the Temple of the God Wiracocha and was a religious center during the Inca period. Going on, in Sicuani, we will enjoy a buffet lunch at the prestigious tourist restaurant “La Pascana,” renowned for the excellent flavor of its dishes. Also, remember that every cold drink, such as water, sodas and beers that you will take there is on yours.

Next, we will continue our journey to the Raya Pass (4,338 m / 14,232 ft ASL), which marks the border between Cusco and Puno. From this viewpoint, we can admire the famous Chimboya snow-capped peak, and you can take photos of the landscape during a 5 to 7-minute stop.

Subsequently, we will visit the Lithic Museum of Pukara, located at 3,910 meters (12,828 feet), where we will explore an impressive collection of ceramics and sculptures representing zoomorphic figures, including the famous sculpture of the “Hatunñaqaq,” which translates to the supreme executioner in Spanish.

Finally, we will arrive in Puno around 5:00 p.m., followed by a transfer to your hotel, thus concluding our tour services.
