We begin our 7-day Choquequirao to Machu Picchu Trek by picking you up from your hotel in our private transportation and heading to Capuliyoc (2,970 m/9,744 ft). Here, you’ll enjoy a delicious breakfast and meet our trekking team (horsemen in charge of carrying the mules with luggage) before starting the long-awaited hike.

During this first section, we’ll descend to Chiquisca (1,835 m/6,020 ft), our resting point, where we’ll have a tasty lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll admire the valley and the Apurímac Canyon—and if we’re lucky, we might witness the spectacular flight of the condor. We’ll end the day visiting the oasis of Chiquisica, enjoying a savory dinner, and a comfortable night’s rest.

On the second day of our Choquequirao to Machu Picchu Trek, we begin with a hearty breakfast surrounded by nature, followed by a zigzag hike passing through Playa Rosalinas (1,520 m/4,986 ft) until we reach the town of Santa Rosa (2,095 m/6,873 ft). Here, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch and taste the famous “Cambray,” a popular local liquor.

In the afternoon, we head toward the village of Marampata (2,940 m/9,9645 ft), where we’ll admire the fantastic sunset over Choquequirao and the mountains, before savoring a lovely dinner and settling in for the night.

Today, we start very early to witness the spectacular sunrise over the Choquequirao archaeological complex. We’ll have breakfast and begin exploring the most important parts of the site, uncovering its history and secrets with our guide. Then, we’ll ascend through the cloud forest and cross the Choquequirao pass to reach the Pinchaunuyoc archaeological site, where we’ll have lunch and take a break.

After lunch, you’ll have the opportunity to descend into the Blanco River canyon to observe the great diversity of local fauna. We’ll return to our campsite in Pinchaunuyoc for dinner and a relaxing night’s rest.

Along this stretch, you can take a well-deserved dip in the Blanco River (1,900 m/6,233 ft) and discover the hidden Inca silver mine. The hike is challenging today, as you’ll cross the San Juan Pass (4,200 m/13,780 ft), but the magnificent views make every step worthwhile.

After lunch in an impressive natural setting, we’ll descend into the depths of the valley, reaching our campsite in Yanama (3,700 m/12,139 ft). We’ll enjoy a hearty dinner and a well-deserved rest.

After breakfast, we’ll ascend for approximately 5 hours to the highest point of our Choquequirao to Machu Picchu tour, the incredible Yanama Pass (4,660 m/15,288 ft). Along the way, you can witness local farmers at work and enjoy breathtaking views of Apu Salkantay.

We’ll stop for lunch and a rest in Totora (3,360 m/11,024 ft), then continue trekking for one more hour until Collpapampa (2,800 m/9,185 ft). There, we’ll have dinner and settle in for the night, with a stunning view of the glacier.

Once we arrive in the town of Aguas Calientes, you’ll have the afternoon free to explore its streets and, if you wish, relax in its hot springs. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner at a great restaurant before retiring early for our highly anticipated visit to Machu Picchu.

Once at the archaeological site, you’ll have a guided tour of approximately 2 hours around the most important and photogenic spots of this Inca city, then head back to Aguas Calientes.

Once in Aguas Calientes, you’ll have time to enjoy lunch and savor the best Peruvian dishes. You’ll then head to the station to take the train to Ollantaytambo, where our private transportation will be waiting to take you back to the city of Cusco, concluding this grand tour.
